The Goldbergs is based on a real family. The director is Adam. F Goldberg, and he is the main character. The real Adam does not actually play himself, an actor does. The show is set in the eighties. They are also still coming out with episodes. All the characters play Adam’s real family, but Erica is actually Eric and a man in real life. There is also a new member of the family. Erica’s baby Muriel Alison Goldberg Schwartz. She named her that because of the grandpa and her dad who died. Her name is a mix of their names.
