The Girl’s Soccer Team at TJ

The+Girls+Soccer+Team+at+TJ

 Description – Ara

Our girl’s school soccer team, the Lady Rams, season is now over.  The coaches that made this all happen were Mrs. Schumacher as our head coach, and Mrs. Mannello as our assistant coach. This team was made up of 7th, 8th, and only three 6th graders. Our starters were mostly Catalina, Millie, Lily, Christy, Ashley, and Ara. Some of the teams that the Lady Rams were up against were Mendham, Mountain View, Lakers, Warton, and Denville. Since this team has only been around for about 3 years, Some of the players were new to the game.

Sequence/history – Tuly

In the beginning of the school year, the girls had tryouts to see who would make it to the team. Unfortunately some people had to be cut because of too many people trying out. After deciding who made the team, they all introduced themselves and what position they played, and as the days passed, they practiced and worked hard. Later, the girls’ soccer team had their first game of the season, and their opponent was Mendom. After a long, tiring game, the Lady Rams fought hard, yet they lost just barely. A couple of games later, the Lady Rams won against the Lakers. The Lady Rams were a team for only three years until this year new teammates helped them. The Lady Rams went to the playoffs, they won their first game and played hard! The second game they lost but played well to end the season.

Cause and effect- Alexis

The girls soccer team had very hard games, one against Mendom and the other against Mt. Arlington. When they played against Mendom, they were not passing or communicating with each other. This caused them to lose against Mendom. When The Lady Rams played against Mt Arlington, they did all the positive things like passing the ball, shooting, and most importantly communicating. This caused them to win against Mt Arlington! One of our biggest effects was when one of our best goalies Catalina got injured. This caused an 8th grader, Giana to play goalie. She did an amazing job. Communicating, passing, and shooting are very important when on the field because it can cause a win.

Question and Answer – Tuly

Why was the Lady Rams team so important? Well, our girls’ soccer team is important because they resemble the school, and sometimes inspire younger students to join the team as well! If you also wonder how the Lady Rams won their games, it’s because they had more communication, passing, strong defense and offense, took chances to score, and most importantly was that they did their best. If you asked the girls’ soccer team when their tournament was, it was on Wednesday the twenty-fifth of October! If you wonder where and when the Lady Rams practice. Well, they practice right after school at the soccer field. If the boys have a game, they move to the baseball field to practice or even indoors, and practice for one hour.

Compare and contrast – Alexis

The boys and the girls soccer team have had very different seasons. I have to say the boys also had an amazing season, they had almost a four-time winning streak! The girls still worked very hard and they tried their hardest in games. Another thing is the boys got new uniforms this year. The Lady Rams, don’t worry though, they will get some next year. They are so excited to get our new and improved uniforms. The boys and girls’ soccer teams have different coaches too. The boys have Coach Onischuk and Coach Bogart. Another one of the teams differences is the Lady Rams won their first game in the playoffs, the boys did not. As you can see the two teams are very different.

Problem and solution -Ara

In the beginning, everyone saw new, unfamiliar faces, and some didn’t know the concept of soccer. Since there were mix-ups with the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders no one knew each other. Once we all started playing soccer for a while, we gradually got to know each other pretty well, and eventually made lots of friends. As we were playing this sport, the girls didn’t know that much about passing, shooting, and dribbling, but as we got friendly with one another, we started to help one another become better players. Because of this, The Lady Rams made a huge improvement of their ability with the soccer ball.
